A bitter sweet welcome at the port of Athinios for Mike who disembarks the ship with his truck on an 8th consecutive relief trip to Santorini this time without his other half Angelika, the very heart and spirit of AUF ACHSE für die Fellnasen auf Santorini e.V.who is currently fighting a great battle like a true warrior. Following a difficult year the Fellnassen team never gave up on their mission collecting in every possible way the crucial provisions that will supply our shelter in order to get through another winter. Many active members of the team personally traveled back to the island to help unload the 17m truck that reached its final destination after a long 3000k solo journey of Mike from Germany to Santorini. Provisions of food, medicine and all kinds of equipment have brought early Christmas to SAWA but also our sister organization Sterila-Santorini Cats. All hands have been on on deck the last days to safely store the precious goods and of course help with the shelter’s numerous daily duties. A big thank you as well to Graeske Hunde that once more this year sent dog food from Denmark, SAWA-Switzerland that sent supplies for our farm animals and all our friends from Europe who made sure that their personal aid parcels full of love reached the storeroom of Fellnasen in order to travel down to Santorini. We always remain grateful to Blue Star Ferries for assisting us with the last leg of the journey from Piraeus to Santorini and back! For all of us the true heroes are always the ones behind the scenes who act unconditionally to the cause they carry in their hearts, Mike you and Angelika are our 🌟superheroes🌟 and we will not stop believing that one day soon you will both return together to this safe haven for all creatures that you have brought to life💗 Thank you🙏✌️
